The second phase of upgrading works at Lebuh Puteri in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Selangor has begun.
This phase involves constructing a diamond interchange with an underpass, as well as U-turns at the traffic light junction in front of IOI Galleria Puchong.
The works are scheduled to be completed by June 2021.
This will be carried out along a 1.5km stretch starting from the Giant Hypermarket intersection to the Puteri 8 residential area.
Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han said Phase Two would benefit some 30,000 residents and business folk in Bandar Puteri.
“Road users will experience free-flow traffic because there will be no traffic lights installed along this road.
“Motorists who want to use the LDP will need to make a U-turn at the diamond interchange, reducing the risk of accidents,” he said.
“A longer period is needed to complete the diamond interchange because of tunnel works,” he said.
The first phase of upgrading involves widening the existing dual carriageway, as well as tunnel works in front of Columbia Asia Hospital and The Cube commercial area. This phase is expected to be completed in December 2020.
The project will complete the upgrading of Bandar Puteri Puchong Interchange, as well as help improve traffic flow from the Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP) into Bandar Puteri.
Ng added that IOI Group decided to build the underpass to avoid disturbing the industrial and residential areas in Bandar Puteri.
