Four Points set to boost IOI’s income

IOI Properties Group Bhd, which is buying a 37 per cent stake in Taipei Financial Centre Corp, expects its new hotel at Bandar Puteri, here, to boost its recurring income stream.

Four Points by Sheraton is part of the company’s Puchong Financial Corporate Centre, which it expects to be one of the most preferred corporate and financial hubs in the Klang Valley.

Four Points by Sheraton will be managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.

Starwood Southeast Asia regional vice-president Chuck Abbott said the hotel underscored Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ confidence in Malaysia’s tourism industry and solidified the Four Points brand’s footprint in the country.

“We are delighted to debut Four Points by Sheraton Puchong in the fast-growing district of Puchong, following the success of the brand in Langkawi, Sandakan, Kuching and Penang.

“As the fifth Four Points by Sheraton property in Malaysia, the brand will enable us to cater to the growing middle-class and the increased number of business and leisure travellers in the market,” Abbott said.

Starwood currently operates 12 hotels in the country’s key destinations, including Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Kuching, with six more hotels in the pipeline.

The hotels are Le Meridien Putrajaya, St Regis Kuala Lumpur and St Regis Langkawi, which are expected to open next year, as well as the W Kuala Lumpur, Westin Desaru and the Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel, which are scheduled to open in 2017, Abbott said.

Six out of nine Starwood brands are represented in Malaysia, including Aloft, Four Points by Sheraton, Le Méridien, Sheraton, The Luxury Collection and Westin.

Four Points by Sheraton Puchong features 249 stylish and contemporary guestrooms designed for a comfortable stay, be it for business or pleasure.

Each room is fitted with the Four Points signature bed comprising a plush mattress, crisp 250-thread-count sheets, cosy duvet, down pillows and an LED flat-screen television.

The 12 executive suites are also equipped with a separate living room and pantry.

Additionally, the hotel offers complimentary wireless high-speed Internet throughout the premises, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel features over 1,358 sq m of flexible space across four venues including a pillar-less 760 sq m Puteri Grand ballroom and a pre-function area.

Four Points is the third largest brand in the Starwood portfolio and the second largest brand in terms of projects in the pipeline.
