PUCHONG: The newly-opened Bandar Puteri Puchong Interchange along Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) will improve accessibility and ease traffic flow to the 1,000-acre Bandar Puteri Puchong township.

The interchange will serve over 30,000 households and business owners, four blocks of office towers at Puchong Financial Corporate Centre and Four Points by Sheraton Puchong.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Subang Member of Parliament Wong Chen, Kinrara Assemblyman Ng Sze Han and IOI Properties Group Bhd (IOI Properties) chief operating officer for property development Teh Chin Guan.

Teh said the upgraded and enhanced interchange would benefit the community of Bandar Puteri Puchong as the township continues to thrive sustainably.

He said the enhanced infrastructure, wholly-funded and constructed by IOI Properties at a cost of RM70mil, is expected to raise the property value of the township.

Not to mention, the Pavilion Service Apartment has also been completed while upcoming development projects in the mature township include Rio City, a mixed development comprising work and retail spaces, hotel and residences are in progress. Others projects include the Stellar Suites and The Cruise Residence will also elevate the township.

“In IOI, we continuously contribute towards the sustainability of the community within our township developments where accessibility and connectivity of the township are key,” Teh explained.

Work on the interchange commenced in 2016. It was conducted in two stages - the first stage involved road widening works along the road shoulder of Lebuh Puteri fronting Citibank costing RM23mil.

The second stage included the closure and upgrading of the ramp for motorists heading to Bandar Puteri Puchong from LDP, USJ, Shah Alam, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya as well as the closure and upgrading of the U-turn located beneath the Bandar Puteri Puchong Interchange.

Also present at the opening ceremony were IOI Properties corporate communication and sustainability general manager Kristine Ng and senior general manager Chung Nyuk Kiong, Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Bhd assistant general manager Francisco Anthony Doss, Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MBSJ) councillor George Yap Kok Weng, Malaysian Highway Authority director Mohd Hadzmir Bin Yusoff, MBSJ deputy president Zulkurnain Bin Che Ali and engineering department deputy director Mohd Haizi Bin Harun.
