Southern cheer for IOIPG

PETALING JAYA: IOI Properties Group Bhd (IOIPG) recorded approximately RM437mil in property sales from its “30 Years Together” campaign in Johor, held between April and June 2025.

The campaign marked three decades of the developer’s presence in the southern region, drawing interest mainly in residential units across its major townships.

According to the group, 558 purchasers successfully completed transactions for residential, commercial, and factory units within the campaign period. Residential properties accounted for 94% of total sales, underscoring steady demand for housing in the group’s Johor projects. About a third of the buyers were from outside Johor, while 5% were foreign investors.

IOIPG chief operating officer (southern region) Lim Beng Yeang commented the strong response showed confidence in the group’s projects and track record.

“The record-high sales achievement over a span of three months is a profound affirmation of the trust that purchasers, buyers, and investors have placed in the IOIPG brand,” he said.

The campaign covered IOIPG’s key developments in Johor – Bandar Putra Kulai, Taman Lagenda Putra, Taman Kempas Utama, and Bandar IOI Segamat – as well as newer projects such as Platino Avenue, while featuring various incentives and promotional draws aimed at homebuyers and investors.

IOIPG entered the Johor market in 1995 with Bandar Putra Kulai, which remains its largest township to date. Spanning 5,680 acres with a gross development value estimated at RM10bil, the project set the foundation for the group’s southern expansion.

Subsequent projects included Bandar IOI Segamat in 1996, Taman Lagenda Putra in 2006, Taman Kempas Utama in 2007, and The Platino in 2012.

The group currently holds 5,065 acres of remaining landbank in Johor, which would provide room for future residential, commercial, and industrial growth.

IOIPG expects new infrastructure and economic projects in the state – particularly the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and railway network expansions – to support its future launches.

Lim pointed out that the group would continue to be selective in its project rollouts while maintaining focus on affordability and market needs.

“We are determined to maintain prudence in strategising our launches with a stronger diversification in products aligned to key catalytic and cross-border initiatives introduced to the Southern region,” he said.

Among IOIPG’s newly launched projects is i-Nova, a 922-unit Small Office, Home Office development in Taman Kempas Utama. Units range from 467 sq ft to 646 sq ft, designed for young professionals and investors. The project saw a positive start, with 60% of Phase 1 units sold during the soft launch period.

Other projects in the pipeline include Kempas Square, a 27-unit commercial hub featuring two- and three-storey shop offices fronting Jalan Kempas Lama; Carillon 3, a low-rise residential project comprising 112 single-storey terrace homes with four bedrooms and two bathrooms; and Marvela 3A, a gated community of 91 double-storey terrace homes in Bandar Putra Kulai.

IOIPG said it remains committed to its long-term presence in the southern region, with plans to continue diversifying its product mix and expanding within its existing townships.
