IOI Properties Group Berhad (IOIPG) commemorated the topping out of IOI City Mall Phase Two  located at IOI Resort City, Putrajaya to mark the completion of the mall’s building structural works on 6 October 2020. IOIPG appointed China Construction Third Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (CCTE)  as the main contractor for the expansion of IOI City Mall.

The topping out ceremony was attended by IOIPG Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Voon Tin Yow,  IOIPG Chief Operating Officer (Property Development), Teh Chin Guan; IOIPG Senior General  Manager (Mall Operations), Chris Chong and CCTE General Manager, Bai Jin Song. Also present at  the ceremony were the mall’s civil and structural engineering consultant, architectural and engineering  consultant, and quantity surveyor among other business associates.

Construction on IOI City Mall Phase Two began in June 2018. Due to the Movement Control Order  imposed in mid-March 2020 to stem the spread of COVID-19, construction of the mall was  temporarily halted until early June 2020. Nevertheless, IOI City Mall Phase Two is on schedule to be  opened to the public come November 2021.

Dato’ Voon in his speech congratulated all parties involved in the successful completion of the  building structural works of IOI City Mall Phase Two.

“We are here to celebrate a momentous occasion and mark yet another important milestone in  IOIPG’s journey as an integrated developer. A topping out ceremony is a tradition that celebrates the  process of building and completing a project. Therefore, today’s ceremony acknowledges this pinnacle  of achievement,” he added.
During the ceremony, Dato’ Voon and Bai presented awards to the outstanding sub-contractors. Teh  also presented a certificate on Five-Million Manhours Without Lost Time Injury to CCTE Site Safety  Manager, Lu Wen Kang.

IOI City Mall Phase Two will include an indoor shopping mall and canopy-covered outdoor street  retail promenade.
