IOI Launches Sierra Fresco And New IOI Galleria At 16 Sierra Township

SELANGOR: IOI Properties Group Bhd (IOIPG) launched its 10-acre commercial hub, Sierra Fresco, and a new IOI Galleria, at its 16 Sierra township with a weekend of festivities. Activities included a bazaar, performances, contests, lantern walkabout and giveaways.

With a total net lettable area of 98,000 sqft, Sierra Fresco will be managed by IOIPG and features retail outlets such as Village Grocer, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, CU Mart, Anytime Fitness, Subway, A&W and more.

Its new sales gallery, IOI Galleria @ 16 Sierra, is located within Sierra Fresco for ease of access.

“Our vision for Sierra Fresco is more than just a commercial hub – we aim to build a thriving community lifestyle destination that enriches the lives of our residents and improves vitality,”   IOIPG group chief operating officer Teh Chin Guan said.

“As part of our commitment to reduce carbon footprint, we have implemented a few low-carbon initiatives at Sierra Fresco. These include the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and solar-powered street lights in the development. We are also going to install the solar photovoltaic (PV) system to generate clean energy for our sales gallery’s consumption,” he added.

In line with their plans for green living, the development also had 6,504 sq ft allocated to urban farming.

“Urban farming provides access to healthy, fresh and locally grown produce. It plays a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability. By spearheading such an initiative in Sierra Fresco, we wish to encourage more residents to participate in the green journey,” Teh said.

This December, the township plans to introduce two new parcels of landed developments, comprising two-storey terrace houses and three-storey townhouses.

A new transit-oriented development (TOD) is estimated to launch in February, 2024, offering an estimated 600 units of two to four-bedroom service apartments within walking distance of the 16 Sierra MRT Station.

IOIPG assistant general manager Calvin Sew, property investment chief operating officer Chris Chong, chief financial officer Melissa Tan, as well as group sales and marketing head Nicole Lee were at the launch.
